Aurora
Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th, 1996 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized as AURORA is an Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15, 2015, and received great reviews from both music bloggers as well as the media. She's recorded a variety of well-known songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the group Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that have been widely praised. Katy Perry posted a video that she supported Runaway. It earned her some recognition. Celebrate the special occasion. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was finding a keyboard in her loft, and becoming amazed by the music. Her parents May-Britt along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to take up music not as a career or hobby but as a way to develop. She began to write writing her own songs. Bjork and Leonard Cohen are among her most favored writers. When her mother told her that the songs she composed might not be famous for her, however, but to encourage people to realize the importance of their work and influence in the world, she began playing them on stage. Piano was her first instrument, at six. She started creating music after turning nine. It wasn't until her 14th birthday that she told her parents. Aurora's success was never the goal of her. She just loves to write songs. For her, the music she writes is her way of feeling everything.
